Pastor, wife arrested for selling baby for 300k in Akwa Ibom

A man who claims to be a Pastor and the General Overseer of a Pentecostal Church in Nnung Ukot Itam, Itu local government area of Akwa Ibom State, identified simply as Pastor John and his wife, Deborah, is telling the police all he knows about the sale of his child to a child trafficking syndicate operating in the state foe N300,000.

The couple who were nabbed in the act by the state Police Command, are said to be in the business for years and would adopt little babies who they later sell to the syndicate, before the long arm of the law caught up with them last week.

While confessing to the crime, Pastor John said:

“We have the mission to train children and suddenly we changed our minds when my wife and I ventured into selling of a new baby for N200,000.00 or N300,000.00 since we have a syndicate who could sell it for us.”

The state police say they duo will soon be charged to court for their crimes.
