TENANTS ELOPE WITH LANDLADY’S TWO CHILDREN IN EDO

A landlord’s wife, simply identified as Mrs. Osaruname Faith, from Egbeta in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, on Tuesday, alleged that her two children, Amanda and Christabel, aged four and two years, respectively, were taken away to unknown destination by her two tenants, named Rose and Mercy, without her permission and that their whereabouts was unknown.

Addressing newsmen, in Benin-City, about her ordeal, the distraught mother said the two tenants parked into their house barely a month ago and that since they came into the compound, they had all lived together as one family.

She explained that based on the relationship that was established within such short period, she decided to leave her two children with them while she went to the stream to fetch water.
Faith stated that when she came back from the stream she could not find her two children which she left in the custody of her tenants.

The heartbroken mother said when she asked other neighbours if they saw her children and the two tenants she left them with, they said no.
She said when she discovered that they were no where to be found, she decided to invite other people around to join in the search party but it was to no avail.
“Yesterday afternoon, after my children have returned from school about 12 pm, they said they were hungry. So I prepared food and I gave to them and after they have eaten, I decided to approach my two neigbours, Rose and Mercy to accompany me to the stream but they said they cannot climb the hill of the stream.

“So I told them that hence you cannot follow me to the stream, I want to leave my two children with two of you.
“And they all agreed. So I left for the stream but when I came back, I could not find my children and my two neighbours again. So everybody decided to join me to look for them but could not see them and when we put a call to their phones, they were switched off.
“I did not know them before but since they parked into our house, we have been living peacefully together and based on that trust, I decided to leave my children with them
“My husband later went to report the matter at the Okada Police Station”, she said.
The 22-year old mother called on the Nigeria Police and the government to help locate and rescue her children from the hands of their captors.
