The evil that men do! It might sound unbelievable but for kids to go through torturing of any kind is terrible. The Nigeria Police Force in Rivers State recently arrested a grandmother for allegedly stripping two hungry children naked, beating and bathing them with raw pepper.

According to reports, the victims, who are her two grandchildren and about 7 and 8 years old, started staying with her following their mom’s death three years ago. The police arrested the 52-year-old woman simply called Mama Vera for physically abusing and maltreating them at Mgbuoba in Obio/Akpor Local Government area of Rivers State. She was said to have stripped the grandchildren naked, doused them with pepper, tied their hands to their back and locked them in a room because they took garri with sugar without her permission.

It was gathered that she constantly maltreats the grandchildren, sometimes locking them inside the room for about four days without food. She was also accused of denying the children their rights to go to school. Eyewitnesses said concerned neighbours went to the apartment and discovered the door was locked. They had to forcefully break into the house when they heard the wailing children calling for help after their grandmother had tied their hands and legs with electric wire, stripped them naked and bathed them with ground pepper and left for work. They added that the younger kid was already weak at the time
