A 42-year-old man, Rasheed Olajobi has been arrested by the operatives of police for defiling a minor in Surulere area of Lagos.

Trouble begun for Rasheed who resides at 37, Oremeji Street, Ilasa, Surulere area of Lagos when he sneaked through the window to defile his friend’s younger sister who is a minor.

Findings revealed that Rasheed had pretended to seek for the minor’s elder brother before he later enter the room through the window to defile the girl.

It was learnt that effort by the minor to resist Rasheed was unsuccessful, especially as he allegedly covered her mouth with cloths before he forcefully had her canal knowledge.

“Mr Rasheed works at furniture maker, and he came to the house of the victim asking after the victim’s brother from the mother, the mother said the victims brother is at home , then the woman left for work, with the hope that the perpetrator had seen the victim’s brother, unfortunately the victim’s brother had gone out unknowingly to the mother. After the victim’s brother went back he realised that their gate was open , and he had to pass through the back of the house to peep through the window, only to catch the perpetrator in the act of rape, the child couldn’t cry because her mouth was covered.

The case have been reported to Itire police station.( human right section)” Ngozi Lucy explained.

Meanwhile, another resident said “The child has been referred to General Hospital Oliyide, for proper care because of the injury she sustained during the defilement.

However, it was gathered that the case was transferred from Itire police station to gender zone D Mushin for proper investigation and prosecution.
