EDUCATIONAL SESSION ON MENSTRUAL CYCLE AND HYGIENE FOR THE GIRL CHILD AT RABBI INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

CRACO had educational session with female students of Rabbi International School, Ifo, Ogun state, on “Menstrual cycle and hygiene for the girl child”. Sanitary kits and materials were given to the students. Educational programs like this are vital in supporting the development, dignity, and future of the girl child. They help to break the stigma surrounding menstrual health and creating safe spaces for young girls to learn and ask questions freely.

Breaking the stigma surrounding menstrual health and creating safe spaces for young girls is important as it Promotes Health and Hygiene Awareness. Many girls grow up with little or inaccurate information about menstruation. Open discussions help them understand their bodies, practice proper hygiene, and recognize when to seek medical help. It Builds Confidence and Self-Esteem. When menstruation is treated as shameful, girls may feel embarrassed or afraid. Safe spaces help them understand that menstruation is a normal biological process, which improves confidence and self-worth. It Encourages School Attendance and Participation. Some girls miss school during their menstrual periods because of fear, shame, teasing, or lack of knowledge and support. Menstrual education helps girls manage their periods confidently and remain active in school and other activities.

We are delighted to know that the session was impactful and that the students found it informative, empowering, and reassuring.. According to the school, “Your educational session on menstrual cycle and hygiene for the girl child was both timely and impactful. The way your team engaged our students with accurate information, practical demonstrations, and an open, safe space for questions helped break the stigma and empowered our girls with knowledge they can carry for life. We particularly appreciate how you addressed not only the biological aspects but also the confidence, dignity, and health practices that every young girl deserves to understand. The sanitary kits and materials you provided were also a generous gesture that our students deeply value.”

We thank the school for their warm reception and partnership.
